After being laid off in 2001, Carol Holt enrolled in Penn State’s letters, arts, and sciences associate degree program. Since earning her associate degree, Carol has returned to Penn State to enroll in the bachelor of science degree program in security and risk analysis in the College of Information Sciences and Technology. “Going to college was a big step,” says Carol, a single mother of a teenage son. “Just take it one step at a time, and enjoy the journey.”
Adult students in Lewistown say that they really like the small class size, the convenience of classes close to home, and the bond they develop with others in their community who are taking classes at the Lewistown Center. The Lewistown Center offers a combination of hands-on activities, practical projects, and opportunities for individualized instruction.
