Degree Programs

Bachelor's in Nursing (RN to B.S.N.)
Take your associate degree or diploma in nursing to the next level. You can choose to take courses online, on campus, or blend the two — combining the convenience of online learning with the comfort and support of the traditional classroom environment. If you hold a current and valid RN license, you already have 33 credits toward an accredited bachelor of science degree in nursing at Penn State.

Associate in Science Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
If you love the science of medicine and want to work in a laboratory, this is the program for you. With the associate in science degree in medical laboratory technology (MLT) you can gain the tools and knowledge to work with pathologists, technologists, and technicians to analyze patient samples to detect illness, provide information to enable treatment, and ensure that the treatment will benefit the patient.

Certificates and Professional Development

Certificate in Pre-Med (postbaccalaureate)
This certificate program is designed for highly motivated college graduates who do not have a science background but wish to further their education in a medical field. In just fifteen to twenty-four months, students can complete the science course work required to apply for admission to medical, dental, veterinary science, and other allied health schools. The program is flexible in terms of scheduling courses, and students who need to work may enroll part-time.

Certificate in Health Policy and Administration
This program is ideal if you want to change your career to health care operations, facilities management, or administration. The required courses provide a basic overview of the health care system and management in health care. The 9 credits in electives can provide you with a deeper understanding of health care issues involving managed care, financing, strategic planning and marketing, and human resources.

Pharmacologic Therapy in the Primary Care Setting
This course is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing for health care professionals who want to acquire or renew prescriptive authority. The participants will receive 3 graduate credits and contact hours from the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association. The summer course is delivered via video streams to your computer plus independent course work. The video streams will also be archived for course reference.

Professional Development School Nurse Series
Enhance your earning potential, advance your career, and satisfy Act 48 and Act 58 requirements. This program allows you to take advanced-level nursing courses in convenient formats over the summer and is ideal for school nurses and school counselors, home health care nurses, nurses working in hospitals and other facilities, and educators who deal with health-related matters and sports, including coaches and health or physical education teachers.
