Welcome from Student Services

At Penn State Continuing Education, we pride ourselves in providing to you the resources proven to help adults successfully meet educational goals. Our team of professional academic advisers and career counselors work specifically with adult learners and know, inside and out, your unique needs.

We invite you to talk with an adviser Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Here is a brief overview of the services available to you as a Continuing Education student and some links to help you find your way around Penn State Web sites.

  • Peer Mentoring Program: Get acclimated to the college environment and connect with experienced students who can give advice, helpful information, and tips.
  • Academic Advising: Learn about our team of academic advisers who have more than twenty years of combined experience working with adult learners.
  • Career Development: Clarify your skills, interests, values, and strengths, and develop an action plan.

  • CE Student News: Your newsletter, written specifically for Penn State Continuing Education students.
  • College-Level Examination Program: CLEP can help you earn college credits from what you already know.
  • Discounts: As an adult student, you can use your student ID to take advantage of the same discounts offered to traditional students.
  • eLion: If you are a current student with an active Penn State user ID, you can register for courses through Penn State’s online course management system.
  • Forms: The most common administrative forms you will need as a Continuing Education student.
  • Library Resources: Gain online access, as a Continuing Education student, to the thirteenth-largest university library in North America.
  • Maps of Campus: Printable maps, parking information, University buildings and classrooms.
  • Paying for Your Education: Access information about financial aid, scholarships, and additional aid opportunities for adult students.
  • Resolving Problems: What to do if an issue arises during your studies.
  • Students 60 and Over: If you are a Pennsylvania resident and work part-time or less, consider this tuition-free program.
  • Trade Adjustment Act (TAA): Find programs that are approved for funding.
